Who said New Yorkers cant "can"...

So it feels to me like I have fallen off the face of the earth! Ive been busy this summer and these past few weeks. Here some of the canning I have done so far, hopefully...what I have made will last us a little while.
So.. this yr I've made: freezer corn, apricot jam, applesauce, pears, peaches, sweet and sour sauce, tomotoes, apricots, grape jelly, and wild peach jam.
For most of you this is probally no big deal at all..but growing up in New York, i never saw anyone can, i really didnt know people did that unitl I married Jay. His mom and grandma are fantics..and now they got me hooked. It's so much work..but when the kids arent pulling at me, it's actaully pretty relaxing!

No- I think that's a lot, even for an Idahoan! Great work. I've only canned a few peaches so far this year. Maybe I'll get to do some applesauce too.

Way to go! Life seems to stop and even turn up-side-down when you preserve that much food - but it is so worth it. I think you fit right into this Idaho/Mormon culture!

I just need to tell you that Kurke came home from his meeting tonight and immediately got a big piece of apple crisp - then I literally heard him gasp - no joke. He told me it was THE BEST apple crisp he has ever tasted and that he was so impressed.
I must tell you this is very high praise - VERY HIGH - because not only does he make apple crisp, but he has eaten alot of it too!
Thanks again :D
